Description

In 1976 Miss Peggy Guy made her appearance on the Gong Show. She successfully walked out on stage with a metal folding chair in tow. She lifted her leg on the chair sideways in an attempt to be sultry and began to sing to Come On Get Happy when her top dentures fell out. This created a chain of hysterical events that had everyone laughing uncontrollably. Then, her leg became entangled in the chair, she lost her wig and fell to the floor all in just forty funny seconds before she cried out in frustration “oh forget it”! The judges all gave Peggy Guy a score of a perfect 10.

Producer and on camera emcee Chuck Barris would be sympathetic to acts that did not do well but he would follow up with comments such as “I liked it, but I like faulty plumbing” or but “I also like spoiled milk”.

Chuck Barris passed on March 21, 2017 at the age of 87. His publicist said he died of natural causes.
